Burlington-based Spectral Sciences, Inc. has been awarded the 2014 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Award from the Defense Security Service (DSS). Spectral Sciences is one of 40 defense contractors selected for this prestigious award out of more than 13,000 companies nationwide. Spectral Sciences previously won this award in 2009.
The award is given to contractors that practice physical- and cyber-security above and beyond the basic National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements. Factors include establishing and maintaining a security program that far exceeds the basic NISP requirements, and providing leadership to other cleared facilities in establishing best practices while maintaining the highest standards for security.
