Spectral Sciences Incorporated (SSI) was founded in 1981 by five coworkers with a shared vision of a collaborative research and development environment with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and related fields. This evolved into a fully employee-owned organization where doctoral-level scientists join together to make exciting discoveries and bring insightful solutions to complexities in science.
Thirty-eight years later, SSI has become an internationally recognized resource hub for expertise in spectroscopy, remote sensing and imaging, and radiative transfer processes, among others. SSI’s scientists and engineers have built its foundation on extensive US government contract research and development, and are branching into commercial markets across multiple industries from defense companies to established technology organizations and start-ups.
From conception, prototype development, to field testing—the original goal of our founders is still active today, as we work to bring clarity, insight, and innovation to advanced scientific technology solutions.
