Dr. Marcus joined Spectral Sciences, Inc. as a Senior Scientist in July 2018. In his doctoral work at the Institute for Quantum Matter and in a year-long residential collaboration at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he studied magnetic phenomena of solid state materials with potential next-generation applications in energy efficiency, information storage, and electronic switching. Through this and other research efforts, he has developed experimental fluency spanning the domains of neutron scattering, ultrafast optics, x-ray diffraction, and fluid turbulence, and architected software for realistic data modeling and analysis using high performance computing. At SSI, Dr. Marcus leverages his broad experience to execute solutions to technical problems of core interest to our government with an eye towards algorithm development, advanced computational techniques, and experimental design relevant to remote sensing, hyperspectral imaging, and applications of quantum materials.
